At Collectopia, our mission is to empower every type of collector by redefining the way people collect and trade.
Collectopia is a pioneering marketplace and tokenization service that allows anyone to effortlessly own and trade physical collectibles on the blockchain. This innovation brings enhanced transparency, liquidity, and a novel form of ownership to collectors.
We securely store physical collectibles, mainly graded trading cards, in vaults. We then create 3D representations of these assets and mint them on the blockchain. Our partnership with a global leader in secure transportation and storage of valuable assets ensures the safekeeping of these collectibles. Instant Liquidity: Selling collectibles traditionally involves friction and risks, including time-consuming listing, packaging, and shipping, along with potential setbacks like shipping delays or scams. Once tokenized and vaulted, collectibles can be bought and sold instantly worldwide without needing to be physically moved, unlocking new levels of liquidity in the collectibles market.
1% Revenue Share: We’re excited about the ability to reward curation. When someone tokenizes a card and sells it, they’ll continue to earn 1% of every future sale each time it gets resold onchain, thanks to blockchain’s tracking and automation capabilities.
Transparency: Recording all transaction details onchain enhances transparency regarding previous ownership and pricing of collectibles. Collectors value reliable provenance, and with blockchain, they can easily access all past owners and activity related to a particular collectible.
Expanded Buyer Network: Being on the blockchain allows sellers to reach more buyers through both credit card and crypto payments, all in one place.
Lower Fees: Our onchain approach enables us to keep seller fees lower than traditional Web2 marketplaces, and users can also benefit from no sales tax on vault transactions.
Power to Discover and Bid: Many collectibles remain hidden in basements and closets unless a seller lists them somewhere. Onchain collectibles give collectors the power to discover and bid at any time, even on those not actively listed. This benefits sellers too, as they can accept offers and be paid instantly without having to list.
Community: Collectors can use this new form of ownership to display their collections digitally to the world. This not only increases the visibility of available assets but also helps create connections between collectors worldwide. We’re already seeing this happen in our Discord.
